200 years ago France sold the Louisiana Territory to the United
States. President Thomas Jefferson, who loved Science, Geography,
and Literature, asked Captain Meriwether Lewis and Lieutenant William
Clark to explore the uncharted land and search for a Northwest passage
to the Pacific ocean. Along the way, Lewis & Clark asked a Native
American teenager to join the expedition as an interpreter. Her
name was Sacagawea. Her skills were vital to the mission. The
successful expedition resulted in many discoveries of plants and
animals. It took two and a half years to complete a journey that
traversed 8000 miles.
Audience members complete the cast in the interactive
performance. Travel west to explore the American continent with
The Corps of Discovery. Captain Clark and Sacagawea lead the

Ocean; and peaceful trade with Native Americans. Learn how The Corps Of
Discovery defies the odds and opens the West, changing life for all
