Between old-school and new cool, a grandmother and granddaughter engage by unfolding stories from the \u201cline.\u201d Kariamu Welsh&#8217;s choreography, Nnenna Freelon&#8217;s original songs, and Maya Freelon Asante&#8217;s set and visual projection designs are all a loving tribute to a long mother-line of wisdom passed forward.<\/p>\n<p>The Clothesline Muse collaborators are family. Maya Freelon Asante and Nnenna Freelon are daughter and mother and Kariamu Welsh is Asante&#8217;s mother-in-law. <\/p>\n<p>The Clothesline Muse was made possible with funding by the New England Foundation for the Arts\u2019 National Theater Project, with lead funding from The Andrew W.
